N2 - The improvement in the productivity level, and the growth rate of a country, depend upon the efforts to improve productivity in the basic units of the national economy. Organizations - both manufacturing and service - need formal approaches to measuring, evaluating, planning, and improving productivity. This paper attempts to provide a conceptual and analytical framework to improve an organization's productivity. Such a framework, it is hoped, will enable managers to make more rational decisions with regard to productivity management.
