Abstract
The chemical syntheses of eight oligosaccharides are described. Three are reducing trisaccharides based on β-D-glucose and contain 1,3- and 1,6-glycosidic bonds. The others consist of D-mannitol substituted at C (1) by glucose or laminaridextrins. Some of these sugars have previously been found in partial acid hydrolysates of laminarin and baker's yeast glucan.
