Abstract

Potato T-enzyme acts on nigerose to produce glucose, isomaltose, and a trisaccharide shown to have the structure O-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)- O-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-D-glucose. This trisaccharide is identical with one obtained on partial acetolysis of dextran NRRL 1355-S.
