Description

PROJECT NARRATIVE
Relevance to Public Health: Keratoconus is a major cause of visual loss in young adults and
the leading indication for corneal transplantation in the United States. Identifying keratoconus at
an early stage is vital to be able to deliver treatments to patients when they are maximally
effective and prevent corneal transplantation. The goal of this project is to develop new
technology that will ultimately enable clinicians to identify and treat keratoconus at an early
stage.
